My favorite weekend ritual? The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. I wish I could put into words every amazing vendor you can find at this place… farm fresh, certified organic, grass-fed, pasture raised. The best of the best.
Back in 2009, my family had just moved to beautiful San Francisco, and we were footsteps away from the Ferry Building. It didn’t take long for us to pick up on the scooter trend and zip over to the market on the weekends. If you’ve ever been, you know it’s foodie heaven.
With the bay to one side and the bustling city to the other, two worlds collide into a perfect setting. It’s one of the larger markets in the city (over 100 vendors and 40,000 visitors per week) and definitely a place not to miss. If you don’t mind the crowds, Saturday is the one to go to, but they also host weekday markets that are smaller and less packed. From decadent desserts to gourmet meals and more, they have practically everything you could want. The best part is it’s sourced from local + sustainable farms from all over California–a perfect way to taste 155,959 square miles of golden state goodness.
Click here for an extensive list of the market’s current vendors and make sure not to miss Bodega Goat Cheese’s Natilla and Little Apple Treat’s Apple Cider Vinegar Caramels with rose petals and cacao nibs (so good!!).
